The Goal of Entre Dos

Teaching Argentine Tango is more than simply teaching someone how to dance, because Tango itself is more than just a dance.

Tango is a popular culture. It’s a living entity with more than 100 years of existence. An ecosystem with its own history, costumes, social backgrounds and evolutions, that is constantly changing, constantly adapting to new circumstances, ever transforming, ever evolving.

In fact, Tango has never stopped growing in all its different expressions from the moment it was born.

To fully understand it, to fully enjoy it within an embrace and at the sound of its enchanting music, it’s important to get to know it deeply, intimately, without restraints, without prejudices.

How could we ever dance Tango and express ourselves through it if we never really got to fully understand it? Where it came from, what it’s made off, where it’s going?…

ENTRE DOS is a House of Tango. A place where you can learn not only how to proper dance Argentine Tango, but also how to fully appreciate its music, its heart and soul, its essence.

And that is why ENTRE DOS offers a wide range of Tango related activities, from regular classes, to weekend seminars, Milongas, Practicas, Lectures, Expositions or simple informal gatherings. Each activity is carefully designed to create, develop or simply refresh a true, honest and generous passion for Tango and that is why, all together, ENTRE DOS gives each member or visitor the possibility to share, enjoy and profit from a healthy and fully integrated system of learning, sharing and enjoying.

All of this happens within a very easy going feeling. Both regulars and visitors feel at home in ENTRE DOS and they are co-responsible for the familiar, healthy and informal environment that makes the learning process so much easier.

Get to know ENTRE DOS better by taking some time to read the chapters on your left. We have strong convictions about everything concerning Tango and we are happy to share them with you!

About Rui & Inês

Rui & Inês are professional dancers and teachers of Argentine Tango.

While dancers, their work is characterized by their improvised performances. An improvised dance is born, develops and disappears forever in front of the eyes of the audience who therefore witness something unique, something alive that grows to the sound of the music and that with it ends. The viewer will never again watch the same show, not even if performed by the same couple at the sound of the same song. According to Rui & Inês, nothing can be truer, nothing can be more honest!

As teachers, and without disregarding the underlying traditions and values of this centennial dance, Rui & Inês have been working to demystify Argentine Tango by making it accessible to everyone and even more interesting to learn.. They've been doing so by merging and harmonizing the different styles of Tango dancing and the different musical currents associated with each of these styles into a lighter, more organic and more effective teaching methodology.

They emphasize the communication between the couple, the harmony, the dialogue, the fluidity and the natural movement. Because they love improvisation, they teach their students to improvise, thus developing in them an artistic and creative side, more suitable to express feelings, emotions, life.

Rui & Inês are professionals. This is their life. This is their future. Tomorrow they will be better than today and their students certainly too.
